Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar and Ukulele Tuition at the Dawsons Music School Altrincham

  • Our promise to you

We aim to provide first class music tuition for all ages and abilities in a friendly and productive atmosphere. Every pupil is actively encouraged to realise their full potential.

Our Music School is run in conjunction with Dawsons Music in Altrincham and classes are started throughout the year as soon as there is sufficient demand. Music pupils at the school receive automatic discounts at the store and many take advantage of this.

  • The School

Our Music School turns 24 later this year and has around 300 pupils offering lessons on a weekly basis, running well established piano, guitar and ukulele courses and using proven teaching methods and techniques.  Our school also offers Rock School courses.

All our teachers are extremely well qualified and highly experienced musicians. Our 3 studios are well equipped so pupils do not need to bring their own instruments and none of our courses use headphones.

Before any teacher takes their first lesson, they will have undergone extensive training to teach their course. But it doesn't stop there. A key part of teaching is the ongoing training, which all teachers undertake to keep their skills honed.

In addition, teachers have written lesson plans, and regular reviews are made of lessons and the teaching that takes place. In this way, though it is the teachers that are providing the lessons, there is also an overview to ensure a high assurance of quality music teaching. Differentiation within the classroom is standard.

Some music schools provide little if any training, and some use teachers with no formal teaching qualifications although they may have a performance award. That is not the case with the teachers who teach at Dawsons Music School.
